Overview

Ten autumn pairs on twenty wooden tiles, for the Thanksgiving kids table or a fall basket. A pumpkin, an acorn, a cornucopia, a maple leaf, a turkey, an oak leaf, a pie, an ear of corn, an apple, and a sunflower are laser-engraved into premium Baltic birch.

A child turns over two tiles, remembers where each picture sat, and goes back for its partner. Start with four or five pairs for a three-year-old and work up to the full board of twenty. Cousins who have never met can play it at the kids table before dinner without any setup.

The backs are engraved with the words Give Thanks and four small maple leaves, so the board looks finished face down and the tiles double as a gratitude game: turn one over and name something you are thankful for that goes with the picture. Each tile is about 2.5 inches square with rounded corners, finished by hand with food-safe beeswax and jojoba oil.

Open-ended by design. Sort the tiles into things that grow and things we eat, set one at each place as a kids table place card, or hide them in a fall sensory bin (filler not included) and match them as they are found. Wood is a natural material, so each tile varies slightly in grain and tone. We think that is part of the charm.
