My journey to founding eat2explore began long before Wall Street - in my family’s kitchen in Malaysia. Cooking together was how we connected, shared traditions, and learned. Those early experiences sparked a love of food and a curiosity about the world that stayed with me throughout my career in finance. Years later, as a busy working mom, I realized I wanted my children to experience that same connection. The turning point came during a cooking class on a family vacation: my kids loved traveling and tasting new cuisines, but they couldn’t yet chop an onion! I wanted to bring the discovery we enjoyed while traveling into our everyday lives - and help them build confidence in the kitchen along the way. Drawing on my training at the French Culinary Institute, I traded financial markets for farmers’ markets and created eat2explore. Working with educators, I brought together authentic recipes, specialty ingredients, and cultural learning to turn cooking into an adventure families could share. Today, every box reflects that journey. My hope is that it inspires children to ask questions, try something unfamiliar, and discover the people and traditions behind what’s on their plates. Because a kitchen can be so much more than a place to make dinner - it can be a place to discover the world. — Rowena Scherer, Founder of eat2explore
