From Math Nerd to Montessori Evangelist

I’m Larry Shiller, founder of ShillerLearning, recovering math nerd, and full-time translator between numbers and humans. I went to MIT thinking math was the point. Turns out, people are. Somewhere between differential equations and real classrooms, I realized that most folks don’t “hate math”; they were just taught it in a way that made no sense (and maybe made them feel a little dumb along the way). That didn’t sit right with me. So I traded chalkboard ego for Montessori empathy. Now I help kids (and the grownups who love them) experience math - and now language arts - as something you understand, not something you survive. No drills. No shame. Just ideas that actually click. Because when things finally makes sense, something bigger happens: confidence shows up. And that changes everything.
