$30.00
OVERVIEW
Learning about the US Constitution is essential. It helps students understand the foundation of the US government's structure, learn about fundamental civil liberties, and spark an interest in participating in democracy.
The US Constitution is a relatively short document, yet it has sparked amazing achievements in the performing arts. Not only do these pieces bring the philosophies of the Constitution and the founding of American government to life, but they also offer current and aspiring artists insights into how to bring stories from the past into contemporary life.
This course is for performing artists, arts enthusiasts, or those who want to learn about the US Constitution from a new perspective. It will involve student readings, comprehension worksheets/activities, and the inspection of primary sources. But it will also offer opportunities to examine ways the Constitution has inspired stunning stage performances over time. Students will not just study historical documents and learn about the three branches of government. They will see how the US Constitution continues to influence life and the performing arts world today.
Includes three PDFs: a student course guide, a teacher guide, and a combination guide (with teaching notes/answers imbedded into the units).
