The Word Stories Series teaches the advanced vocabulary children need for the 11+ exam the way words are actually learned and remembered: inside a story, in a moment, carried by a character. Character-description words are the lifeblood of the 11+ - "which word best describes the character's attitude?" This book brings them to life through morally interesting people who are never simple heroes or villains. Children meet valiant, tenacious, candid, magnanimous, obstinate and more, and learn to read a person the way the exam asks them to.
