The first of the new version of The Lowly Chicken series. This story and the stories to follow are all set in England during the Second World War. We first meet The Lowly Chicken; indeed, he is lowly, though he changes for the better through the help of kind animals and people. Which is the message for all my stories. Encouraging children to be kind to each other.
