If you enjoy a Treasure Hunt, drawing, coloring, art lessons, AND learning about Montana's rivers and waterways, this is the book for you. There is no "right" or "wrong," but there is plenty to discover!
With 43 nature-inspired pages, you'll be taken on a Treasure Hunt in search of raindrops, you will uncover art lessons, numerous pages to color, all while you learn about the interconnected nature and importance of Montana's watershed (rivers, tributaries, and groundwater).I am a local artist from Montana, and I created this book alongside a series of paintings entitled, 'The Interconnections, Impact, and Beauty of Montana's Rivers.' Seven of my original paintings are included in this book to inspire you to create your own greyscale coloring page right next to mine!
This book is an experience that all ages will enjoy, however, it is focused on a 3-8th grade audience.
All rivers lead to the sea; "from space, rivers and streams look like veins on the Earth's surface" (PBS). Rivers and streams are interconnected within a system called a watershed. Each watershed is deeply interconnected, as water moves downstream and joins together, carving paths through the land that continually change.
Art portrays a community, helps us understand other points of view, shares community values, and facilitates learning and beautification. This series and coloring book celebrate our great state and educate the public about watersheds at the same time. As you enjoy the magnificence of Montana, you will also learn about the importance of our rivers.
A special thanks to the Montana Art's Council, an agency of the Montana state government, for assisting in the funding of this project.
