When the lights go out, familiar things can suddenly look very different.

At bedtime, Mamá switches off the lamp-and Nori's four familiar corners seem to disappear. Her chair hunches like a sleepy beast. The curtain stretches into enormous wings. Her slippers appear to whisper, and the toy basket opens a shadowy mouth.

Jelly tries to brighten the whole room at once, but one enormous glow leaves him exhausted. Then four tiny fireflies arrive with a gentler idea: one little glow, one little look.

Corner by corner, Nori observes, touches, listens, and discovers that the things she loves were never gone. They were simply resting in the shadows.

Created for preschool families, this reassuring picture book features: One short sentence in English and natural Latin American Spanish on every page A gentle approach to bedroom shadows and lights-out worries A simple calming phrase children can repeat with Nori Nature-inspired problem solving through the light of fireflies Bold Latino folk-art-inspired illustrations with clear emotional expressions A comforting read-aloud experience for children ages 3-5 Cuando se apaga la luz, las cosas conocidas pueden verse muy diferentes.

A gentle bilingual story for quiet family reading, preschool classrooms, and bedtime connection.
