In the story, Mister Grum experiences strong emotions and is caught up in his overwhelming feelings. He is offered different coping skills and slowly begins to calm down, discovering the one that best suits him. Throughout the story, the narrator supports Mister Grum, showing the importance of perseverance and empathy when helping others deal with intense emotions. The book can help teachers and parents teach children basic coping skills individually and/or in groups. As well, children can explore many important concepts such as identifying their own emotions and non-verbal communication (which provide with information about how people might feel in a given situation). It also provides a positive model for how to help people dealing with intense emotions, through perseverance and empathy.

The last section of the book includes coping skills ideas and offers children the opportunity to draw or write about their emotions and coping skills. Children are invited to share their creations through the book's Instagram account, which make them feel connected (one of the coping skills encouraged in the book) as they share their own coping skills and feelings with others. Younger readers can have fun answering the opening questions that will spark their curiosity and creativity. They can also play the part of Mister Grum.

The book will soon be available in Spanish.
