These ghost and jack-o'-lantern counters are made for Halloween math, a Halloween sensory bin, or a boo basket. They follow the same double-sided format as our other counting sets, with maple ghosts and cherry jack-o'-lanterns, and come in sets from 10 pieces up to 100.

The two woods give the set its color. The pale maple ghosts and darker cherry jack-o'-lanterns are easy to tell apart, so a child can sort them, build a set of ten two different ways, or compare two groups side by side without any paint or dye on the pieces.

Each piece is cut from solid hardwood, laser-engraved on both faces (a smiling face on each ghost, and a carved face, ribs, and a curled stem on each jack-o'-lantern), and finished by hand with food-safe beeswax and jojoba oil. At about 2 inches across, they are sized for small hands.

Open-ended by design. Bury them in a bin of dried black beans to dig out and count, use them with a ten frame or whatever math curriculum you already use, or tuck a handful into a boo basket or classroom party bags in place of candy. The jack-o'-lanterns also work as fall pumpkins after October is over.
