Prophet ʿIsa's (a.s.) birth was nothing short of a miracle-he was born without a father and was blessed with the ability to speak while he was still an infant, amongst many other miracles. With these divine miracles, he was entrusted with one mission: calling humanity back to the submission to Allah (s.w.t.). As opposition and threats from Bani Israʾil intensified, Allah raised ʿIsa (a.s.) to the Heavens, preserving him for a greater decree.

[Mention] when Allah said, "Oʼ ʿIsa, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify [i.e., free] you from those who disbelieve... (Surah Ali-ʿImran, 3:55)
