Children often struggle with welcoming a new member to their social group. To be successful, they must be open to others who may look and act differently, and learn to celebrate these differences. In Dominic's New Friend, Dominic realizes that he is wrong when he makes judgements about a cat that joins his group of friends. He quickly discovers that Bella, the cat, has many talents that he admires.
