In this heartwarming story inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, children join 7-year-old Deku on a journey through her village in Japan as she searches for what makes someone truly beautiful. Along the way, she meets wise teachers, sees golden-cracked pottery, scarred bamboo and more-all showing her that imperfection is not something to hide, but something to celebrate.

By the end of her journey, Deku realizes the love and beauty she was searching for was inside her all along.
