The purpose of this book is to explore connections between the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE), Confucius, and belief in good fortune in China. The book consists of collected excerpts and stories from texts, articles, and websites related to three topical strands relevant to China. These are discussed using an analysis of narrative method, a process by which the researcher collects stories as data and analyzes common themes to produce a description that applies to all the stories captured in the text
